We continue to the West Coast National Park after enjoying some refreshment amongst the beautiful flowers. On arrival we head for the Postberg section (only open in August and September) where we enjoy the endangered Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebras, Wildebeest, Eland and other wild animals grazing amongst the fantastic show of flowers. With luck, we can also do some whale watching from the lookout point. We enjoy a picnic lunch while gazing at the beautiful sites in the park. Once we have had our fill of this wonderful park, we continue up the coast overnighting in one of the quaint villages.

Today we rise at our leisure, have breakfast and then proceed on to the Skilpad Wild Flower Reserve where we take a slow drive and a few short walks to wonder at nature's magic display of flowers. We enjoy a picnic lunch here. We proceed on to Kamieskroon where we see the crown of rock after which the town was named back in 1924 when the town was moved to it's new location. The original town was built in a kloof that was too narrow for expansion and the church decided to move to the next valley where there was more room for the community to live. If there is enough time, we do the circular route from Kammieskroon to Garies via the inland route, highlighting the difference between the mountainous area of Kammieskroon and the plains of the Great Karoo. We cannot guarantee the flowers but this whole route should be a picture of colour. From here, we return to our accommodation for another wonderful meal.
